Set in a superb location with pleasant gardens and south-facing terraces, The Rise offers all the charm and hospitality of an English Bed and Breakfast at its best.
Our elegant 1920's Gentleman's home has delightful, sunny and spacious en-suite bedrooms all overlooking beautiful views across green fields to Camber Castle and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve to the Sea.
Take a walk through our terraced garden to join the 1066 Country Walk or just sit and enjoy the peace and tranquility of the countryside and panoramic views.
We feel that one day in Rye is not enough to enjoy the delights of this beautiful medieval town, so why not stay a little longer if you can, so that you can explore the surrounding area with its many castles and gardens.
We are close to Ashford International Railway Station and the Channel Ports so its easy to take a day trip to France. A direct train service to Rye operates from Ashford, Brighton, Lewes, Eastbourne, Bexhill and Hastings.
Accommodation
You will be able to relax and unwind in one of our individually designed bedrooms, each with an ensuite bathroom, all have the above stunning views towards the town of Rye and Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and the sea. The en-suite bathrooms are spacious and have both bath and shower over. Flat screen televisions with Freeview channels & DVD players, clock/radios, complimentary WiFi access, hairdryers, hospitality trays, magazines and quality bathroom toiletries all add to your comfort.
Castle View - a bright and sunny Twin-bedded room with dual aspect overlooking the gardens.
If guests prefer this can be arranged as a Super-King size bed.
Winchelsea View - a King-size Four Poster bedroom with balcony.

Breakfast
A traditional Sussex Breakfast is served at individual tables in our oak panelled dining room with French doors opening out onto the garden and views. We use local produce as available, bacon and sausages from Rye's award winning butcher, milk, yogurts and eggs from local farms (also eggs, when available, from our Grandson’s farm hens) we also serve home baked bread and our own preserves. Following our 2009/10 Quality in Tourism inspection, we are pleased to display EnjoyEngland's new Breakfast Award recognising those establishments who offer guests both high quality and choice of breakfast together with service and hospitality that exceeds expection of a Five Star establishment.

Situated just six minutes walk from the centre of town, The Rise provides easy access to many of Rye’s famous old Inns and Restaurants - with advance notice we would be happy to book tables for guests
Our home is regrettably not accessible to some guests
and cannot, due to its location, be made accessible within reasonable resources.
However, do please ask whether your particular requirements can be accommodated.
We regret we do not have facilities for children or pets

How to Find Us
We are situated on the B2089 Rye to Battle road
Directions
Driving from London or Channel Tunnel via the M20: Leaving the M20 at Junction 10 (A2070 Brenzett) continue on A2070 for approx. 11.5 miles (18.5Km). At Brenzett exit roundabout onto A259 (Rye). Continue on A259 for approx. 8 miles (13Km). Arriving in Rye, follow the one-way system as far as the B2089 (Broad Oak/Battle), The Rise is 330 yards (300m) past the level crossing on the left hand side, just past the turning for West Undercliffe.
Driving from London: Take the A21 as far as Robertsbridge (roundabout at John’s Cross), take the first exit (Hastings) after approx. 1 mile (1.6Km) turn left onto the B2089 (Rye) Continue on B2089 for 12 miles (19Km). On entering Rye The Rise will be found on the right, just before the bottom of the hill
Driving from Dover: Follow the A20 and then A259 (Rye) across Romney Marsh, arriving in Rye follow the one-way system as far as the B2089 (Broad Oak/Battle), The Rise is 330 yards (300m) past the level crossing on the left hand side, just past the turning for West Undercliffe.
Driving from Battle: Take the B2089 through Broad Oak and Udimore to Rye. On entering Rye The Rise will be found on the right, just before the bottom of the hill.
By Train: Rye Railway Station with connections to Ashford International (Eurostar) and Brighton (via Hastings) is only a short walk from The Rise. As you exit the station, turn right and walk alongside the fence to Ferry Road/Udimore Road, turn right and pass over the level crossing, The rise is 330 yards (300m) on the left hand side, just past the turning for West Undercliffe.
